Our instructors are fully first aid trained and DBS checked.

Sensei Fil Artusa
Fil started karate in 1974 under Sensei Michael Beach (Sandy) and has also trained under Sensei Tomita, Sensei Enoeda,
Sensei Otta, Sensei Kanazawa, Sensei Kaza, Sensei Sheri and Sensei Doug Wilson.

Sensei Carmine Contessa
Sensei Carmine first started training in 1974 under Sensei Michael Beach and continued in 1976 under the watchful eye of Sensei Fil.

Sensei Kim Martin
Sensei Kim started karate in 1992 training under both Sensei Fil and Sensei Michael Beach and grading under Sensei Enoeda and Sensei Otta.

Sensei Sharad Karia
Sharad started his karate training in 1975 achieving Shodan in 1981. He has trained regularly with many Japanese instructors and more frequently with Sensei Kato, accompanying him on some of his seminars in UK as well as India, Japan and Europe.

Sensei Nihal Jayawardana
Nihal started training in 1975 at The Lion Works Karate club in Woking, at the age of 8 then going on to study under
Sensei Michael ‘Sandy’ Beach, Sensei Fil, Sensei Carmine and grading under Sensei Hideo Tomita.

Sensei Katie Samuel
Katie started karate in 2011 and since she started it has been her favourite sport, especially when learning new Kata’s and fighting.

Sensei Warren Calvert
Warren started karate training in 1986 in Lancashire and trained there for nearly 10 years before moving to Surrey
and has now been training at Woking Karate Club for nearly 20 years.
